Nothing much to say, but whoever call us "lazy bastard" should try translating from a Japanese raw, and to make a HQ release by yourselves. We don't use Chinese raw, and we do HQ release, if you want speedy scan, go ahead and read someone's else.

Thanks for all the hard work. I don't know why people can get impatient, its not like we're that far behind. Currently there are only 23 chapters in Japan and it's a monthly series, so once we get caught up, the wait will still be a while.

Well... chapter 18 and 20 were already released, but it's a pleasure to re-read them since now thet are HQ. Good work guys! I like it more when they are HQ, doesn't mather that you have to wait a couple of days more; there are manga chapters released one in 100 days and they aren't HQ, there is a problem, not here.

Lol, well I'm starting to clean chapter 22, It won't be long before we're completely caught up.

I was curious to know if it was agreed upon to translate the Japanese sound effects into English? Not to sound disrespectful, I like many couldn't wait to read more of Oreimo and grabbed AzakuraHimes ver. It could cut down on time it takes translating it, re-inking (whatever it is called). For myself I prefer to just leave it as I believe there's a webpage that has Japanese sound effects available I might be wrong though

The latest chapters of 18~20 had a chance to compare XscansX with Azakura and I kinda like their version better BUT that's mainly due to it having the least bit of the original Japanese manga intact.

Example: Chpt 18 XscanX Aza
Chapter 20, Is nice since XscansX left the Japanese pg 21/22 and here and there around this chapter and previous, hope this practice is best left untouched but that's my opinion/preference.

-edit- Any way to keep the sideline untouched? I noticed that as well between Aza which left em at times untranslated and some translated while Xscan ver are completely cut off, May I ask why it was cut off or was that how it was from the RAW source?

Missing Scans from Chapter 20 released by AzakuraHime: 06, 05, 04, 03, 02 - Perhaps if you guys at XscansX can get Aza's permission to include them in a v2 re-release of Chpt. 20, would be a shame for fans to miss out this pages.

We to have these pages they are part of the raw though i dont work on this project sometimes the typesetter or cleaner dont include cover pages and such into the chapter.

and about the SFX for as many people who like them left untranslated theres the same amount who enjoy it redrawn so they actually know what the effect is

Wouldn't it cut down on time/effort to just leave them untranslated? Since Oreimo is a popular title, that's just my thought on that.
Any chance to ask the folks working on Oreimo to include them + include everything that should be included like the cover, ads, etc, everything and only translate the content of the manga that's relevant?

actually that is the raws.
Our is the Japanese manga version while Aza was using the magazine version.

and about your pages that were missing
as the old typeset/cleaner of this project, we usually do include those pages. sorry about that we will try to add everything back in soon

Please include them as seeing the left out pages missing on Xscans releases makes me feel what else might be missing in all of the previous chapters.

on the side note... please take note that the next vol. isn't out and we are going to start using japanese magazine version as there won't be covers until the volume is officially released.
anyhow i'll tell the project group that is working to add the covers/onepage stories back into the releases

Well, I can't say much about this since I only started on the series recently. I did chapter 20 and I only did the one's that are possible.

Personally I like it left untouched as well, but alot of people see the japanese SFX and say "What?", some are also too lazy to learn hiragana/katakana. We're trying to make this an ENGLISH scanlation, so we're translating as much as possible without murdering the art altogether.

Also, leaving a note on the side just kills the flow of reading.

In regards to the cover and ads. We could include them, I just didn't since I assumed they were put in at the beginning of volume 3.(namely chapter 15) I came in at chapter 17 or so. I can clean those and include them if Tran approves it in a second version, But once again, it's at the Beginning of volume 3 and shouldn't have been left until the last chapter to be released.

tl;dr version.

The extra pages are from the beginning of volume 3.(ch 15) Don't know if they were released or not.

The SFX are translated since this is an English scanlation, by english speaking fans for english speaking readers.

I've had the SFX question myself, and I think I'll copy and paste Tran's response in later.

Could just have notes about the SFX like in GTO. eg. *SFX: Bang! outside of the panel, that way it saves time cleaning and keeps the original SFX (which I also prefer).

And yeah, it would save me hours of time, for the hard redraws I spend about an hour to an hour and 30 minutes per page.
all depends on the sfx position, background ect.

Like in the recent chapters with the stupid screen tone scratch marks indicating rain. I not only have to match up patterns, but recreate scratch(white) lines and black lines. Takes tons of time.

Like I already posted, Most of them were from the beginning of chapter 15.
The rest however, like the Omake were from chapter 18 and 19 since She didn't bother including them. lol.
She basically jumbled together all the forgotten pages and released it with chapter 20.

Also about the sidelines. Those are from the magazine raws, mostly advertisements and little notes like "What will happen next?". Some are even character biographies which wouldn't fit in the space if we translated them into english.

For the most part, they're unrelated to the story.

I agree with this, many fans do not seem to take the time in learning hiragana/katana alphabet which before I had a hard time but now I do not.

In continuing about the side line panels, forgive me but I'll be using Aza scan to further explain my opinion/case. On this scan page of Chpt 18, pg 04, Something like that adds to the charm of the manga - in the content if it's relevant, I understand very very little of what it says but I can understand if it's left untranslated.

The side panel here on Chpt 18, pg 28 (final page) Aza translated it, Sounding like a Narrator which is usually included in mostly all of the manga to help the story along without a sudden end or to further thought of the progression of the what has transpired - for me, myself should be included.

That last sentence may or may not make sense as I am struggling to find the right words to explain myself but I am unable to so far, but hope some of those that read it can interpret it why it should be included in future releases by Xscan.

Yes, I know that's what I concluded when I first read them.

As I said, she was using the magazine raws. I'm using Volume raws. o-o...

+ lol, I cleaned chapter 18 but we didn't use my version since it was before I joined. I only cleaned chapter 19(no redraws) and did all of chapter 20.

She more than likely went and got her raws from dm5.com or some chinese site similar to it.
