| Ok, I got the raw, I got a scanner, so what do I do now? How do I dissect a tankoubon and scan with the best quality? |

| I read something about using a hair dryer on it's lowest settings to melt the glue, then you carefully pull the pages apart, don't get the glue on the pages though. Not the exact video but something similar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BP-wRBfObqc |

| Heh, debinding is better by far.. The equivalent of cleanly tearing apart a manga is a shame, but even more of a shame is to bend it out for all it's worth. I don't like seeing books with those creased edges. |

| nah, it was simple than I thought, just turn on the oven, 2 mins later, the glue will be melted and you can debind it page by page (but all) it just takes time and patience. I'm nearly done btw |

| ok, so the quality is pretty good, but how come it's so damn heavy for JPEG file??? I set the quality too high? (on a second thought, I think I set the resolution to 3000x 4000 thingy)...how do I reduce them?
@DemonL lolz, I was typesetting with left hand, while right hand was scanning pages, that explains for the horrible grammar, but now I look at it, it's damn funny.

| Oh god, that would be why, just decrease it to either 300dpi to be nice or 72 to be smaller, you don't have to rescan it you can just change it in photoshop |

| Nice. And it looks like I'm not the only one that's trolling with scans. So wait, your NOT supposed to cut the book, but melt the binding? I've failed with that 2 out of 2 (once with hairdryer, once with microwave), and I still don't know why. But cutting leaves jagged edges (gomennasai to whoever is cleaning Lucky Star Comic a la Carte raws)...are there any other ways to get clean raws???
also, I've always used 200dpi as standard, is that enough? |

| I believe that DPI at 600 is the best quality for any scan . Save the file at maximum quality is also needed. But that was not what you was talking about right? I think the best but time consuming method is debinding (meaning using heat to melt the glue). I haven't tried the hairdryer or the mircrowave actually, but I have tried: 1. Electric stove. 2. Mini heater. 3. Air conditioner. Those three work most effectively for me. Btw, when you arrange the raw, maybe you would want to go with some certain order so you won't get confused about the page order. I will post it later (just got home now), I need to take a bath |
