I'm one of RandomScanlations staff as a TL/TS/Raw provider. I would be really for a joint project with you for Sun Ken Rock because the rest of the team really don't seem motivated... and it's sad to say that we won't catch up with the published story anytime soon as it is.
I would also like to talk about another project by the same mangaka as SKR : Space Chef Caisar. We released the chapter00 and there is 7 more chapter for it to be completed but it seem to be a lost cause with RS.

After checking out SKR and SCC briefly I'm willing to proofread for both, assuming you need a proofreader that is.

I still didn't talk about it with the other because they are currently unaccounted for...
I think that if they can't follow a steady release schedule when there is still 7 volume before catching up with the current publishing, a joint is needed.

As I'm french and that Sun Ken Rock is published in France (the 11th volume comes out the 8th of june), I can TL and Scan. Also I usually do the TS. But as you might have seen, I am in serious need of a PR

We currently have lvl29 and lvl30 finished and the TL till lvl34.
I'll try to take a hold of Carrotop (the one in charge of the release) and make him contact you.

So, from the sounds of it. You're scanning your own raws from the french releases?
You're going French>English for translations, and you need cleaners and a proof reader?
You can provide translations for both the series?

yeah, I'm scanning the raws from the french release but RandomScanlations was using the Korean raws up till now : bad quality, big censorship...
I can provide scan and TL for both of those series FR>ENG, it didn't bothered people up till now.
We need cleaned and PR but it's mainly because our own PR, cleaners and QC are hard to join and don't feel motivated (they usually work on 1 chapter over 3 release)

Wow. Proposing a joint on his own and trying to make Random Scanlations look inactive.Not organized maybe, maybe but active nonetheless (3 releases per month). And he makes it look as if he somehow tried to contact us (Never heard a word here).

Seeing as Weaper was a backup translator and a typesetter for Random, he should know first-hand that they only used French Raws until now. I know that very well seeing as I was translating from that.

Sorry if I'm venting right now but Weaper had access to my translations covering the entire volume 6 and I can't help but shake the feeling that he could be using my translations (up to 38 now, 34 when this topic was created) and simply proofing them to his liking and crediting himself.

We talked about it with carrotop, if he didn't contact the rest of the team, that maybe is where the real problem lay...

I know that you posted the TL for vol 6 and I'm not the type to steal others work, be sure that I didn't even look at it. Tought I understand your hanger as it's never appreciated when another team start the same serie as you.
We also are using the French Raws but higher quality one, will see how it turn out. and it's easy to call me back up when half of the release's TL since I joined RS were mine. And as I was also a TS, QC and that I brough to RS almost 10 different staff that Carrotop never knew how to hold, please stop doing such baseless accusation when I was doing twice as much work as you...

I didn't want to work with RS anymore because of the lack of communication and release randomness, period (the team really know how to be thrue to its name)

ps : don't you think that with the money that Carrotop is earning, thanks to the release, trought Deposit Files and other, he could use it to buy better raws ? Just telling...

@Ncrdrg: I've been waiting for at least carrottop to get here and cause a drama, but then the translator showed up...oh well, whatever.
Just make something clear:

1. Weaper was not the one who thought this joint could not work out. It was me after talking with Carrotop and saw how reluctant he was.

2. We intended to take over this for long time ago. Not the moment Weaper show up.

I wrote this on April 5th, while the day Weaper registered and wrote this thread was 13th.

3. We have the translation up to 37 now and 4 of them, is not Weaper's, it's from yukisanada, our translator. You don't have to worry about we taking your translation. Just refer to chapter 32 which is coming out in a few days from now.

4. Weaper did try to defend Random scanlation in the emails he sent me. I believe it's understandable since Weaper himself said: the group is trying to be active but lack of communication and something like that. That's why he wanted a joint to help Carrotop.
That's why I contacted carrotop to propose a joint. Still it could not work out the way he wanted: "let's work via email" while it took 2-3 days for him to answer one of my email, even though I gave him our IRC channel, Skype and Yahoo Messenger. I judged that there's no future for the manga if we do joint by exchanging email like this.

5. Random scanlation has problem with proofreading as well as editing issues. We believe that we have the force to ensure a better release than Random scanlation, and most of all, a stable releasing pace. I am a translator myself and I hate it the most when my translations are piled up. Translating is simply one of the hardest job in scanlation, translators are hard to come by and our translation being piled up either mean that team doesn't respect the hard work of translators and that's plain rude.

6. Looking at how disorganized the group is, it's simply a matter of choice for the original scanlator to take up the work or not. Do NOT forget that Weaper was one of the people who took up the manga, he translated and edited them all for Randomscanlation. Now that Weaper left Random scanlation, being the one of the original scanlator, he has the right to join or do joint with anyone he likes.

Well, I'm obviously a translator with more than just Random Scanlations and I did share some concerns concerning the current setup. However, it always saddened me to see scanlators fight over existing manga while there's new ones still to be found (majority of my projects actually) but it's something I've come to live with.

It's not the first nor the last time something like this will happen but to be level with you, there's a few things that just don't quite sound right. First, Weaper wasn't one of the original translators. (25, 29, everything else was a previous translator and the rest is my work). And quite simply, he'd rather blame proofing than produce better translations. Also, RS editors are actually quite competent.

It's actually kinda funny. I'm not even angry at your group or you. I just don't like weaper because I've seen him run around several sites portraying himself as the face of the SKR scanlations. Just look at his website. He's hosting the releases, gives it a official-sounding name and then asks for donations. In my eyes, it's obviously a "look at me" attitude and that just rubs me the wrong way.

it's normal to talk about and share the manga that you like, especially when that one is such an underrated manga...
I give the right credit to everyone needing it, proof : even tought I've left RS, a direct link to the team website is still on the main page of the website along xscansx.
If people want to donate they can but I don't force anyone. There is such similar button on every website. just know that Ispend around 100€ each year for that website.

ps : I've almost learn to speak english exclusively by reading manga online so it's obvious to ask for PR. Please try to understand such fact.
