Hmm... I'm mainly a fan of comedy, and that sends me towards Zombie. After all, it's randomness that makes sense! =P
But in all seriousness, Zombie and Mitsudomoe 2 are my picks for the best comedies of winter 2011.

GOSICK's actually turning out to be pretty good, then again, it's hard to go wrong with an anime produced bo BONES (FMA and Darker than Black). The main character is absolutely adorable, even though the anime itself is a murder mystery.

SHAFT's known for their quality/unique animation, and Madoka Magica really accent's that. I've never been a fan of the character design (they had the same for Hidamari Sketch; I guess it started to grow on me), but their representation of the "witch's world" really caught my attention. Also, I haven't heard music from Kajira Yuki (Mai-HiME/Otome, Noir/Madlax/El Cazador) in a very long time.

Fans of Clannad/Kanon (Air started off well, and would've done a lot better if they gave the story a bit more time/room to develop) would probably enjoy Toradora! as well.

IS... well, Star Driver is continuing throughout winter season, and for me, at least, Infinite Stratos beats Star Driver only in mecha design and attractiveness of the female leads. Other than that, Star Driver wins in almost all other catagories (character development, plot possibilities, universe development, etc.) I'd probably like Infinite Stratos more if ep 2 didn't make it feel so harem-y =/

FRACTALE is also interesting, pretty much feels like Studio Ghibli (My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Ponyo) made an anime. I also can't wait for more Hanzawa Kana.

Dragon Crisis I'm gonna follow because it has a 275% dere Kugimiya Rie that controls fire, and also is promising Horie Yui, a voice actor I've also been searching for.

Mitsudomoe 2 broke my heart with their first ep, but they're starting to make up for it with ep 2.

as for StarDriver and InfinateStratos, I don't 100% agree with you Synn. most of the points you say is true, only problem is that SD uses the format as if it was the powerranger theme. Where they have a problem in the beginning of the eps and then have them try to solve it in the middle then the Climax hits and they have this Mech battle and it's over again. there isn't much of a Eps Plot. if you know what i mean.

If you asked me to pick 2 for this season it's gotta be Dragon Crisis and Yumekui Merry. =)

I'll definitely admit that Star Driver splits its episodes up into school/mecha parts. I mainly like it because it amuses me that the voice actor of Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club keeps yelling out "Galactic Pretty-boy" =P

@Dreams: Out of curiosity, what was your opinion of Yumekui's ep 2? I liked the beginning, but after seeing the 2nd half, I got really annoyed. Not because the 2nd part was bad, but because it felt like a cliffhanger gone wrong. If I could redo the situation, I probably would've waited for ep 3, and then watched both eps 2-3 together. I still have no idea why the 2nd part of the 2nd ep left such a bad taste in my mouth, however =/

Yeah, I agree. I'll give freezing some time to figure out what it'll be, and then judge it. Until then, I suppose I'll follow it on blogs and whatnot =P

2nd part of the eps is probably called for thb. Yumeji needed a reason to help merry indeed. And Merry of course like all Battle anime/manga always refuses. if your talking about the Killing part of 2 spirits from the dream world. that itself i guess would give you an bad after taste but i mean this whole time we knew there are Demons that will find someway to get into reality. and if you thnk about it Yumeji probably was targeted by the cat is only because he has power to see colors. The girl who got attacked was cause she made a pact with another Demon/Spirit. I didn't leave me a bad taste in my mouth just cause i think it's slowly showing us that there are spirits that are willing to do anything to get into reality and even kill fellow spirits to do so =p

I just finished watching Gosick, great story and characters, especially the ending theme, it's the best I've heard in a while. Also Gosick made me a lolicon

this is just how i decided on what to watch
first the initial Picture presented when downloading or streaming if it catches my eye i will look for trailer, then if that good i watch the first eps. So far level e was the first one to die at the initial picture so i didn't watch it LOL

Just watched the second ep of Freezing, and nah, it's gay. It's completely different to the manga. The anime directors are just going their own way with it, it's stupid. On my dropped list now. Onii isn't really that great either. Level E was said to be good, but the way it was presented put me off for some reason. Beelzebul is still the only decent anime I've seen this season.

please watch gosick, its my fav this season for some reason, probably because there hasnt been many historical animes recently

Dragon crisis: Dropped z_z;. Already watching too many other good/better series. Mistook it for another series coming out in spring <<;.
IS: Dropped, Mecha quota fulfilled by Ginga bishounen, and Mio's VA is in Zombie <<;. (Although I might batch it afterwards to hear Megumi Toyoguchi.)
Zombie: 2nd ep convinced me to watch, also has Mio's VA.
Hourou Musuko: maaaay end up dropping this and reading the manga, havent decided yet.
