| Questions: + How to draw a straight line? ( You can see that I drew all by Poligonal Lasso tool that costs to much time and moreover, it's hard to use) + How do I redraw the 4th panel? another question, what is a topaz thing and what do I use it for? |

| Use the pen tool in photoshop it's the p key as a shortcut. you can also use it to make curve lines that you can trace with the brush tool |

| erm...umm...I'm using cs3, At first, I create a new file "double page" which have the resolution of 2400 x 1600. The two pages have the resolution of 685 x 1000. So when I copy and paste the two pages into the new "double page" and then redraw them, then I save, the "double page" still have the resolution of 2400x1600, but the picture doesn't fit that resolution, make me have to "crop" the picture, thus reduce the resolution. How do I make the picture fit the big "double page"? |

| Only way to make it 2400x1600 is by resizing it, but that would distort the image IMO. If you want higher resolution it's better to find a better quality raw or scan it at higher resolution. |

| they look good !!!
I'll help answer some questions although there might be better alternatives to what im suggesting. For straight lines I usually use the 'line tool' (right click on rectangle tool to choose line tool). Pen tool can be used for straight lines as well.
Topaz Denoise just sort of 'smooth' out the picture. In scans you see a lot of noises/spots/pixelated-type-thing in darker areas. I've only recently started using topaz so I dont know if there are other features that are helpful for cleaning.
Not sure what you mean about the resolution thing, what if you go to image> canvas size and expand it ? (this way it doesnt stretches the image) |

| hey thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate much (it's my first time using potapotshop to do something beside typing), thanks to you guy, i got a bit of confidence XD _ I'm using "line tool", should have known this earlier, those two pages above could have been done way faster...I actually drew by hand all the lines lolz xD. A question though: how do I bend a straight line? "Pen tool", I don't understand the mechanic of it. x(
_ image -> canvas size? hmm...let me try out a bit.
Mmm..Topaz denoise? where can I find it? I don't see it in photoshop? |

| Pfft Potatoshop, kufufufu. The pen tool is extremely difficult, well personally to me even though I took a class for that, that uses the same mechanism with it--but thats just a 3D program XD I use paint tool sai to redraw lines/hair all that other good stuff. Well to bend you have to do it little by little, meaning just tiny straight lines and you have to 'bend' its way XDD Maybe you already know how to merge all of those shapes but I suggest to merge all of those lines to make it more easier :I if you want to merge it all at once use ctrl and select all of the shapes, right click and then merge them all--ORMAYBEYOUALREADYKNEW?
*You have to download Topaz Denoise ask Rakan |

| From your friend: Diwrnos' Tips (sorry, but I don't have an extended lenguaje. 1st: You need to crop the image. 2nd: use Topaz Vivacity or Topaz DeNoise Topaz Vivacity, If appear some message from virus, No man, this file don't have virus, but the Antivirus detect the trial reset like a virus, only desactivate the antivirus only when you download, extrat and use the trial reset or Topaz Vivacity, actvate after the installation for topaz vivacity. Topaz DeNoise 3 this file wit serial number. Install the 2 progrms man, and use the program that you see working better in the Image. *Appling topaz you can make a better redraw man, you can use the Smudge tool and Burn Tool. 3th: Use a lot of zoom man, I use 300% from zoom, to make the redraws. 4th: Whe you try to make lines, use the brush tool with a little size, like 1,2,3 in you case 1 or max 2;click in the first point where you like to start, then press SHIFT and then click on the 2nd point to make the line, if the line is with curves you need to do some line mor e then a simple line. (mmm, making a video can be better) |

| yeah the pen tool takes awhile to get used to, sometimes it doesnt curve the right way so you'll have to left click > delete path. Im still not that good with the pen tool, but its the only tool I know on photoshop that can create curved lines T_T its kind of hard to explain in words but i'll try.. Basically first you have to set your brush to whatever size, color, and opacity you want the line to be. Then go to your pen tool, click to create 1 point and then hold down left mouse for the second point and drag your mouse towards the opposite direction of your curve (what person above me said). Once you get the curve you want, left click > Stroke Path (uncheck stimulate pressure box if you dont want stroke-like lines) ...if it looks good then left click > delete path.

| @ Biscuits: NICE!! but, it's a bit inconvenient for me for now, I still do it faster with Haru's tip about small straight lines xD. Still, it's a really valuable tip, thanks @ Diwrno: I download the Topaz Denoise 3 to use, as recommended by many people. and yeah, I'm using a lot of zoom, especially since it's quite easy to hold the Alt and roll the mouse, quite convenient to zoom in, out and redraw. The Brush tool can draw that kind of line? nice, practice time! @ Haruhilulu: I was redrawing all the above pic with small straight lines hmm...I don't understand the part "if you want to merge it all at once use ctrl and select all of the shapes, right click and then merge them" Anyways, I got a question, two maybe: 1. I have a white background and 2 separated pics. I copy the two pics and paste them to the white back ground and I start gluing. So, in total, I have 3 layers, right? A problem occasionally happens to me is that: whenever I use the Clone tool, I will have to select a layer for its contain, and then I apply to the redraw. But sometimes, I can't seem to Clone the first layer and apply to the redrawing. I tried Alt + left click to take sample, but when I left click to apply clone, it doesn't apply anything. Still, the second layer, I can do everything from cloning or applying, using brush to it 2. My right lane bar, the Colour bar. It has turned to something weird, it turns into a choice of 3 colors: green, red and blue. Unlike the last time I was using the Brush and it has a "white-black" bar only which can help me adjust the grayness very quick, so how do I turn the 3 colour back to "white-black" color only? (and, sorry for so many noob question :X |

| @Rakan: admins panel -> general -> categories and forums -> add... practice it dude, and I thought that you will be absent for a week? xD
Btw, I've been thinking for a while, this forum at this state is quite boring, there's most nothing for the guests to do, even if they become a member of the forum, so we are kinda bad host. So when I see Rakan's idea, I think that, how about we open a Help forum for everyone (including the guest). Of course, the currently used Translator's den will be revealed to the public for the first time too. We accept all kind of request as long as it related to what we can do (not just in manga xD). So, but since we specialize in manga, so the Help forum should have some sub forums: "Cleaner's help", "Typesetter's help", "QC's help", "translator's help"...the guest can post in and ask for help, maybe to translate a line? maybe clean this page? or request to do a manga?, and since our member are many, who's free can help out with the request. This way we can entertain and satisfy the guests, what do you guys think? |

| Pen tool
Click once to set a point it'll make a straight line to the next point you set.
if you click and drag it allows you to make a curve.
To edit the line control click anywhere on the line. to enter edit mode.
Click on a point to edit the point's angles ALT + click the arrows handle to move the handle around.
hope it helps |

| Here from the site I learned most of my stuff a long ass time ago lol. -------------------------------------------------- The Brush It's the brush, how hard can it be, right? Well, if you've ever tried to redraw a curved line without the help of a tablet, it may be harder than it seems. Getting the endpoints to match up, the curvature to line up, and the line thickness to blend in can be harder than it seems. The pen tool is handy, but fine tuning things like line thickness can be tough. So what's an editor not blessed with steady hands to do? Instead of using bezeir curves or doing things freehand, you can do what is analagous to a reimann approximation of a curve. The original curve is shown in 1. A section was erased, then redrawn using an exaggerated example of shift+clicked straight lines (generally more, shorter lines would be used for a less jagged appearance) as shown in 2. In 3, more straight lines are drawn alternating endpoints from the original. Even more in 4. As the new area is significantly thicker now, we begin to trim off corners with an eraser, as seen in 5. In 6, the curve was sharpened to match the original lines (you may need to sharpen or blur, as well as burn or dodge, depending on the thickness and crispness of the original lines). In 7, a few more bits were trimmed off, and the final curve is shown in 8, with the original curve overlaid in red. Note how close the redrawn black line approximates the original red. Fewer steps are needed with practice, and thicker lines allow for more leeway. |
