| I'm always in the need for a good comedy, and would like to see what other peoples opinions of it are.
I like almost all forms of comedy, but I enjoy a) random comedy, b) comedy with cute girls, or c) comedy with a "yeah, we went there" feel.
Examples of random comedy would be Kyouran Kazoku Nikki (Still one of my favorites, just off of the opening alone), Pani Poni Dash! (It still manages to crack me up), Ore wa Zombie desu ka (this season, but so far it seems like random comedy), Angel Beats! (just look at the ova) and Galaxy Angel (season 2 is my favorite of the 4/5 seasons)
Examples of of comedy with cute girls... well... this'll be a long, noncomprehensive list... but... Galaxy Angel, Sayonara Zetsubou sensei, OreImo, Kyouran Kazoku nikki... you know what, it's anime. All comedies have cute girls. I think.
and the very very rare "yeah, we went there" comedy... Mitsudomoe is arguably the best example of this. Period. Extremely well done slapstick humor based around misunderstandings of the most hilarious horrible sort. You'll be fine as long as you leave your conscience at the door and forget to pick it up on the way out. =P
On second thought, after remembering b gata h kei, setokai yakunidoumo, and Setokai no Ichizon, I guess I have to take back the 2nd part. Cute girls are not enough to get me to stay with a comedy. Especiallly when the comedy is mainly about sex. Pity, though. The girls in Setokai no Ichizon were extremely attractive. =/
Anyways, I'm looking for any suggestions that people with similar tastes might recommend to me because I most definately want to make sure that I have not missed any decent comedy. Hey, if this goes well, I might turn my head to the mystery and Slice of Life genres, as well.
Edit: I was unaware that there was a suggestions topic. Oh well, the other guy isn't me, so I'll keep this up =P
@rakan: what exactly is golden boys about? |

| i would have to say go watch Full metal panic Fumoffu if your just lookin for comedy that is, if your lookin for serious mech fights too then watch season 1 full metal panic and full metal panic 2nd raid, those were based on the manga so the comedy on them weren't that great, as for fumoffu it was only for laughs =p |

| not to worry i have too but because i've watch some many animes it's hard to think for some reason =p i don't really watch much comedies tho my genre for animes tend to fall into, romance, fantasy, mech, psych, and supernatural. usually there are some exceptions =p umm you could try zero no tsukaima it's pretty funny, that reminds me i still gotta finish season 3 >< |

| Hmm... Zero no Tsukaima... I watched the first season, and the first two eps of the 2nd season before losing interest. Well actually the added character annoyed me. I'll keep it in mind, though~
If this thread turns out well, we might as well make threads for other genres. I've recently discovered that I like some aspects of psychological horror, interestingly enough.
And before it's mentioned, the mech comedy Gurren Lagann as been watched as well~ Although I mainly thought of that one as a comedy because it perfectly captured the feelings of what I believe to be "popular shounen", and thus was a wonderful satire of the genre. |

| @Synn yeah.. school rumble was SO GOOOD until... *sob* the effing crappy ENDING! X.X
And btw i love comedy too! Although i go for comedy mangas instead of anime xD Anyway with my limited knowledge on anime, here's my recommendation for ya: For Comedy + Cute Girls/Ecchi --> Seto no Hanayome, Green Green, School Rumble For Comedy + More Comedy --> Gintama For Comedy + Delinquents ---> Cromartie High, GTO, MiXiM(not sure about this one... only read the manga)
@Dreams hmm.. I've been wanting to watch Full Metal Panic for a long time but haven't gone around to it lol. Is it really good?

They need a place to live so they settled down in front of a mansion. 3. They meet a young hentai guy :X that loves maid thingy. 4. That guy hired them as maid and so on.... Totally forgot the anime, but I remember that it was funny. |

| @Tran: If I hypnotize you, will you go on a boat and bring me some seafood? =P I couldn't resist Nodame, seeing that I play classical piano myself
@Coke: Green Green and Cromartie High are new names to me, I'll check 'em out when I get the chance. FMP is a very well done series. Season 1 (FMP) and Season 3 (FMP: The Second Raid) are pretty much comedy free, and rather are closer to a military drama, whereas season 2 (FMP: Fumoffu!) is phenomenal. I don't have my external so I can't check the episodes for reference, but I know for a fact that the first episode of Fumoffu does a good enough job introducing the main 2 characters that season 1 should be unnecessary should you choose to skip it. There is one important character that might not get introduced, but once again, I have no reference for it. Oh wait, on the interenet that means that I'm supposed to put (citation needed) =P
Just remembered, Hyate no Gotoku, Mahoraba Heartful days~, K-on!, Lucky star, Nyan Koi!, Asobi ni Iku yo!, and Saki are also added to the "watched" list =P I'd add Mayoi Neko overrun, too, but I only liked 2 episodes of it =/ |

| Tran, I think the alligator one was He is my master, which is kinda scary because I haven't watched that one yet >_>
Ninomiya kun... hmm... I'll keep it in mind, but I'm kinda turned off to anything with "nino" in it because I was coerced into watching the Gantz world primiere and I didn't like it. Apparently the reason why we all went was so some girls in our group could fangirl over a guy named "Nino".
Here to make me a complete hypocrite, Arakwawa under the bridge was phenomenal! A wonderfully done comedy by SHAFT!
EDIT: Dagnabit Dreams, I guess that's the name of the anime, then. |

I don't usually care a bout shoujo but Nodame is an exception ^___^ Did you watch the Live Action version?? It's really good too. No clue about that alligator anime lol. |

| Ah! Hanamaru Youchien is also a good comedy~
@WantCoke: Do you happen to play visual novels at all? Kanon, Clannad, One: to a radiant future, and Wind: A Breath of heart are examples of pretty darn nice romance, and they've all been translated into english. Other than that, the only decent romance I can remember off the top of my head would probably be kimitodo. |
